Nearly half of all Active Shooter events occur in a workplace, and that only constitutes a small fraction of the workplace violence events reported annually.  From disgruntled ex-employees, domestic violence spill over, to interpersonal conflict, workplace violence and work place Active Shooters are on the increase.  Businesses  have an obligation to provide a safe working environment for their employees.  Aside from the moral obligation to keep our employees safe, an owner or manager may find legal ramifications for failure to do so as well.   We believe prevention is the absolute best strategy to keep people safe and we seek to work with businesses to  foster an informed and prepared work force.   Regardless of the size of your business it's crucial you plan for an Active Shooter Attacks.  Because such a large percentage of offenders are current or former employees they do not care if you are a Fortune 500 corporation or a family owned store.  In fact because most small business's can't afford security officers, they must rely on planning and effective employee training that much more.

Every employee of an organization needs training on prevention and what to do during an Active Shooter event.  But not every employee necessarily requires the same type or level of training.  We recognize that there are many different levels within a business structure.  From executives, to managers, to front line supervisors, to the new employee on their first day, we will provide education using our proven strategy of PREPARE/PREVENT, ESCAPE, RESTRICT, PROTECT tailored to each employee or management level, focusing on warning signs and behaviors to be observant for around the workplace, preparing yourselves for what to expect during an event, and then giving you effective and proven strategies to prevail during an Active Shooter event.  

The majority of workplace Active Shooters have occurred immediately following or the same day as a disciplinary action or a termination.  We call these "Troubled Terminations".  Let us work with you on the strategies necessary to prepare for and handle these higher risk situations to prevent an event from ever occurring.  

Security  Assessments are a vital tool that any business needs to best be able to identify  where some of the risks are.  Often when leaders hear the term Security Assessment they think it will lead to high costs to fix identified risks, but with us that's not the case.  Many times a risk can be reduced, mitigated or even eliminated by a change in policy or actions.  Not every risk needs money to be thrown at it.  With a 20 year background in physical security for the  U.S. Military, conducting  threat assessments and Security Assessments and developing the corresponding mitigation strategies, we will bring that same expertise to you.  

A Workplace Violence Policy needs to be more inclusive than a simple "zero tolerance".  As part of our program we will cover what an effective Workplace Violence Policy should encompass.  There are a host of other policies that business leaders need to develop based upon their needs, and we can consult with you to make the best decisions based upon your organization's values.  

A comprehensive Emergency Action Plan is critical for a business.  There are a variety of federal, state and local case laws that hold a work center responsible for having documented plans in place to protect their employees from any number of emergencies.   Active Shooter is one of the areas that many Emergency Action Plans overlook, yet it is vital.  Even if it is addressed in your existing plans, the threat and workplace climate are constantly changing.  The Plan must also be continually reevaluated and changed.   Let us help you keep your Emergency Action Plan relevant by providing the absolute latest in threats, prevention measures, survival strategies and recovery measures.
